Answer: Hello! With your question, Gattaca Law would like to advise as follows
Currently, the Ministry of Health has officially announced that the extension of the isolation period lasts 21 days, instead of the last 14 days- period. According to the Ministry of Health, amids the complicated development of covid-19 with the arrival of new strains of SARS-CoV-2, scientists must research and re-evaluate the incubation period of the virus.
Specifically, the National Steering Committee for The Prevention of Covid-19 epidemic has issued Notice No. 600/CĐ-BCD on May 5, 2021 to adjust the period of concentrated isolation, management time after the end of concentrated isolation and testing for COVID-19 prevention. Accordingly:
“Adjust the isolation period for cases where concentration must be isolated as prescribed from at least 14 days to at least 21 consecutive days in the concentrated isolation area from the date of entering the quarantine area or last contact with a person with SARS-CoV-2 and taking samples for SARS-CoV-2 at least 3 times on the first day, the 14th and 20th days during the concentrated quarantine period”.
Thus, after entering Vietnam, you need to conduct a continuous 21-day quarantine at the concentrated quarantine area. After the period of concentrated isolation, the person entering the country continues to carry out isolation at home and accommodation for 7 days to minimize the risk of spreading the disease in the community.
