CASES OF RECOVERY FAMILY REGISTRY, TEMPORARY RESIDENCE REGISTRY FROM 01/07/2021

According to Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA guiding the Law on Residence 2020 of the Ministry of Public Security, cases of family registry or temporary residence registry previously granted will be revoked when citizens carry out residence procedures in the following 07 cases; which leads to changes in information in family registry or temporary residence registry previously granted, the registration agencies shall:

- Revo recall of issued family registry or temporary residence registry;

- Adjust information in the residence database in accordance with the Law on Residence 2020;

- Do not grant new or re-grant family registry or temporary residence registry.

Specifically in the cases as follows:

1. When citizens carry out procedures for permanent residence registration

2. When citizens make adjustments to information in the residence database: household owners, civil status, addresses of residence places,...

3. When citizens perform family separation

4. When citizens delete permanent residence registration

5. When citizens make temporary residence registration

6. When extending temporary residence: The Residence Law stipulates that the maximum duration of temporary residence is 02 years, upon the expiration of this time limit, citizens may extend multiple times

7. In case of deletion of temporary residence registration: citizens who are absent continuously at temporary residence places for 06 months or more without registering temporary residence at other places, or have been registered for permanent residence at their own temporary residence places,... will be removed from temporary residence registration.

Above are all cases of revoicing household registration books and temporary residence books since July 1, 2012. This recall is appropriate, gradually moving from residential management by paper book to electronic method to ensure that by 01/01/2023, the paper household registration book will be completely abandoned.
