THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS ISSUES A CODE OF CONDUCT ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
On June 17,2021,the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Decision No. 874/QD-BTTTT promulgating the Code of Conduct on social networks. The Code is designed to create healthy conditions for social networks in Vietnam, ensuring personal freedom, freedom of business, non-discrimination of domestic and foreign service providers, in accordance with international standards, practice and treaties to which Vietnam has participated.
Individuals should learn, comply with the terms of instruction, use social networking service providers before registering, joining social networks. It is recommended to use the full name, personal name, real name of the organization, agency and register with the service provider to determine exactly the name, website address, contact when participating in and using social networks.
Organizations and individuals that share information with official and reliable sources; to commit acts and conduct in accordance with the ethical, cultural and traditional values of the Vietnamese people; do not use hate speech, inciting violence, regional discrimination, gender, religion; not to post contents that violate the law, information that offends honor and dignity, affects the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals; using offensive language, violating fine customs; spreading fake news, false news; advertising, trading in unauthorized services ... causing frustration in public opinion, affecting social order and safety.
The Code of Conduct encourages the use of social networks to propagate and promote the country, people and culture of Vietnam, sharing positive information, examples of good people, good works; mobilize family members, friends and those around them to participate in educating and protecting children and minors using social networks safely and healthily.
