CREDIT GROWTH AT THE BEGINNING OF 2021

In 2021, The State Bank of Vietnam is expected to have growth credit of about 12%. According to the money market of SSI securities, several banks have recently been approved credit growth limits from 3-4% in the first quarter of 2021 by the State Bank. 

Before, the State Bank said that credit growth in 2020 is about 12.13%, this is a strong acceleration in the last months of the year. Financial statements of several banks also show outstanding loans to customers skyrocketing in fourth quarter 2020 such as Vietcombank, OCB, Sacombank, ... In general, credit growth in 2020 has a strong differentiation among banking groups. A number of banks have high growth of over 20%, beside, there are also banks that have not increased up to 10%.

In 2021, however, the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to continue to develop complicatedly, the world and domestic economic prospects are difficult to predict, economists believe that the banking industry needs to take great effort to stabilize growth in the coming time.
